Kidnapped
If yellow was a person
 He'd kidnap me
 Startle my inner silence
 With the self-expression
 Of the overjoyed
He'd take me to the Great Away
 Introduce me
 To the daisies
 Acquaint me
 With the sun
 He'd teach me to adhere
 To the middle traffic light
 So that I might yield
 And savor
 The melody of the canaries
 When he finally convinces me
 Of existing sanctity
 He'll kidnap the gray
 And take him away
 Drown him in lemonade
 Alas
 Yellow is not human
I cannot be kidnapped by it
And so I succumb to the gray
 Who is very much alive
 But every now and then
 The thought appears again
 And I think
 How nice it would be
 If yellow, like me,
 Was a person
 And would steal me away
 From the ash and storm
 Ah, yes
 Wouldn't it be marvelous
 To be kidnapped by yellow?
