I Got 5 Dollars (But I Got No Life)
Chorus:

 I got 5 dollars!
But I got no life!No life, no life!

 I got 5 dollars!
But I got no life!No life, no life!

 I got 5 dollars!
 Yeah I got 5 dollars!
 But I ain’t got a life!
 Nope I don’t got a life!
No life, no life, no life!

Verse 1: I could walk through the door of a convenient store
Waste my money on snacks but then I’d be poor
Five dollars can’t buy me love or friends
And ain’t enough to make a meetin’ of the ends
For some people it all depends
On how much you make and how much you spend
But I really don’t think that the world will end
Just ‘cause I’m not a leader of men

If I were rich, life would still be a bore
I’d find shiny new things for myself to deplore
Maybe I’d make an album ‘bout how great it is
But I’d still be hatin’ it and that’s the way it is
We always want what we can’t get
No matter how much we have, we don’t have enough yet
The next step forward you might always regret
Man’s an addict that keeps makin’ bets

 Chorus:

 I got 5 dollars!
 But I got no life
 !No life, no life!

 I got 5 dollars!
 But I got no life!
 No life, no life!

 I got 5 dollars!
 Yeah I got 5 dollars!
 But I ain’t got a life!
 Nope I don’t got a life!
No life, no life, no life!

 Verse 2:
What do you take pride in?
What do you make strides in?
Is it what you ride in?
 Is it that excitin’?

 I pride myself
On my state of mental health
 Not my material wealth
 On my emotional stealth

 In this judgemental world
 The horrors make me hurl
Until my mind wan ts to unfurl
Like the tale of a squirrel

I pride myself for not spending this 5
 For not taking a dive
For chasing purpose lost in so many lives
 Maybe someday myself I’ll revive

 Chorus:
 I got 5 dollars!
 But I got no life!
 No life, no life!

 I got 5 dollars!
 But I got no life!
 No life, no life!

 I got 5 dollars!
 Yeah I got 5 dollars!
 But I ain’t got a life!
 Nope I don’t got a life!
No life, no life, no life!

 Verse 3:

 Right now I’m a joke
But I strive not to croak
 I’m not like most folk
 Boy what I can invoke!

If everything were handed to me on a silver platter
I’d get a little smug and I would get a little fatter
But soon I’d get so fat that I couldn’t do a thing
And I’d be to smug to ask for anything

And for days I’d wallow in my own dirt
And I’d start to starve and my stomach would hurt
 And I’d die
And come back as the ghost of a real guy

So as long as I’m stuck with 5 bucks and no life
I won’t have to deal with the stress and the strife
I’ll deal with my own stuff, and to me it’s tough
And I won’t stop truckin’ ‘till I’ve done enough

 Verse 4:

I’ll be remembered, I’ll make something of myself
If I get rich than by all means I’ll share my wealth
I’ll turn this 5 into a billion bucks for charity
Express my visions to help other people’s clarity

I won’t sell out, stay true to me with sincerity
I’ll be important, I’ll go down in history

And for me, there’d be no greater victory
Then to help cont ribute to modern morality
Even if it means igniting controversy
I’ll fight the power, I won’t let nobody censor me
Fight to make our vote count in this democracy
 And expose any government debauchery

Five dollars can go a long way
It can make a homeless person's day
If the economy really crashes it could be a week’s pay
Anything bad about me you say, I’ll brush away

 Outro:
So yeah! What is the purpose of your life? If you think your life has a purpose, what is it? What’s the most important thing in the world to you? It’s personal opinion. No one knows the real purpose of life. Yet. But it’s only a matter of time. Until then, think about how you would define a meaningful life. I have no friends and I never do anything except ace English tests. Does that mean I have no life? I’m happy. Are you?
