Reborn

Death waits for no man
His doors open they stand
Guarded by a lost ghost
Whose days are still infinite at most

His king sits on a misshapen throne
Flung from glory in a fit of scorn
He wallows in his shame
In his kingdom that had become his chains

Death now carries the broken frame
Of a young girl still new at the game
She felt no pain, just a subtle kiss
From her lover beyond the great abyss

His heart hangs beside his charcoal cloak
Love that strayed was the one that broke
And a single rose Hades gave
And it grew and grew on top of her grave

Death then offers up his mortal prize
And the darkness bows to dark blue skies
The ghosts began to cry and mourn
As immortality is slowly reborn

This poem for me isn't just about death, but rather more about a forbidden love that almost follows a Romeo and Juliet plot.
