"Put on your safety mask before helping others with theirs" -Deadline

Can you see my pain
behind this mask
It's the hidden rain
and an open flask

Look into my eyes
can you see the storm
Can you see the lies
and the heart that's torn

The wars that I've fought
the tears I have cried
I've never been caught
because I've always lied

Struggling with my past
holding onto my sanity
I'm fighting to last
yelling at the monster in the vanity

Down on my knees
hurt in my heart
Screaming out please
don't tare my apart

The author's comments:
This poem is inspired by the problems I have with myself, but not willing to let anyone else see. Then finally I start to let someone in and fear that they will use it against me.
