Hunting season

Hearing the distant shot of a gun
sounds like a lot of fun
so i go to investigate
but stumble upon some tasty bait
now i'll become the prey
and that will ruin my day
i bet you didn't know the hunter was me
oh ha golly gee
now that animal is my prey
and i intend to bring it home at the end of the day
this animal will be food for dinner
i think i am the true winner.
