Do or do not there is no try

There's a sickness in my head
Threatening to come out
There has to be a monster in there
Filling my head with doubt

There's got to be a way to end it
I have to get better
I'll take a blade and bleed it out
But first I'll write a letter

To my family I'll always love you
To my friends you are the best
I can feel the voice slipping away
I think I need to rest

Before I close my eyes
I see the blood pour out
The voice is just a whisper
But now I start to doubt

Here's too much blood around me
My intention wasn't to die
I just wanted to feel better
But in my blood I lie

At least the voice is gone
I'm finally at peace
I can feel my eyes close now
And finally I'm released.

The author's comments:
Dark poetry is easiest for me to write. I am not suicidal, I've never self harmed but this type of writing comes to me so naturally and it just flows and I love writing it.
