Today I Faced Death
Today I faced death
Every second counts, every breath
The ringing in my ears, the shots make me deaf
She stared me in the eye
As I watched my brothers fall and die
Told me to embrace sweet death, only a dirty lie
She kissed me on the lips
I caressed her face, she held my hips
and I fell into her warm, comforting grip
She vanished and I cried
for on the ground, bloody I lied
While my mind was gone, I had survived
The adrenaline rushed
How I wanted death’s sweet touch
But it was not enough, my will was too much
Today I faced death and won
