Infinite
“Though infinite can never meet” –Andrew Marvell
Light gleams on the deepest of hues
casting shadows around the room.
Memories fade through the walls
and glass shards reflect off the floor.
The silence between them is unmatched,
illuminating darkness of the night.
Secrets they keep are left unsaid
fear of not knowing fills the air.
Hopes and dreams flood her mind
casting far into the past.
He sits there catching his breath,
wishing away the passing minutes.
With teary eyes and dried throat
glancing off into the future,
two paths diverging towards infinity,
he realizes it will never last.

Dear Teen Ink Editor,
I am writing to you because I think I have a piece of poetry worthy of your magazine. What struck me when I first learned about Teen Ink was that all of the submissions are from teens. This alone gave me the confidence to write to you today. I really admire your mission to have a magazine dedicated to the writing of young authors. I strongly believe that this is a necessity that was lacking before.
My piece, entitled “Infinite” was at first a school assignment in my poetry class; however, I just kept writing and rewriting it until it became what it is today. I really think it could be a nice piece featured on your website or magazine. Thank you for the opportunity to submit my poem to your website.
