If words were deeds
Or wishes horses,
Such a different life
we’d lead.
For words are comfort
and confidence and just
what we need
to pull ourselves
up by the bootstraps
so we can shine.
But on our Earth,
actions speak louder
and many don’t realize
what their words may imply.
And so hearts break
and heads ache
and we learn just
how assumptions
can make an a**
out of you
and me.
