A Troubled Mind
The lightning strikes brilliant against the cold metal in which my being was alike.
Monsters dancing around me, with their ribbons my heart was tied.
Quietly observing, blowing smoke rings in the sky.
Its a step less dance and a game of promised lies.
Your now their fool, their puppet in disguise.
The game with your lover only now with crooked dice.
Their promise was our drug and we got lost in the high.
We forgot what the truth was, it curled up and died.
Through the cracks our blood seeped only to be soaked up to hide.
The currents carried away our demons but they arose with the tides.
No pain and no suffering because nothing remained inside,
The hope inside us grew wings and took flight.
The strength we thought was our friend gave up its fight.
The star that promised freedom is nowhere in sight.
What's left of our souls sulks in corners and cries.
Now we're all numb, our smiles pulled back tight.
Looking for that spark that kindles inner light
