I know why Jesus lives in my heart,
He's there to keep it from falling apart.
When people push until it almost breaks,
He holds it together, each piece he takes.
Jesus does not hide away in my smile,
So I can pretend I'm okay for a while.
He does not live inside of my brain,
So I can act normal and sane.
Jesus makes his home in my heart;
He keeps and treasures every part.
Although the world may not accept me,
Jesus always makes me feel lovely.
When the earth causes me pain,
I trust in Him to stop the rain.
Jesus is the love of my life,
The One who will help me through the strife.
With his help, I will stay strong,
Guard my heart, and forgive wrongs.
Sometimes this life is extremely crappy;
Jesus is the One who makes me happy.
