Do We Live in Fear?
When did we become so consumed by fear,
That it’s the only thing we know?
When did we let it come into our lives, and take over us?
Trumping over every other feelings we have.
We live in fear of the future, the past, the present.
We try to escape it in our dreams, but it finds us there too.
How did it find us?
When did this emotion, become stronger than the rest,
That it’s the only thing we feel.
The feeling of pure happiness feels out of place,
Because we are so used to fear.
What are we so afraid of?
The known or the unknown?
Maybe we are afraid of what we know and what we don’t know.
Most importantly; does it live in us, or do we live in it?
Did it consume us, or did we consume it?
Is this fear not fear at all or something else entirely,
That we have only stupidly mistaken as fear?
