Interlude
Interlude
The end has come.
Not far away now;
Only four months to go.
The butterflies await,
Nervous, we are.
Ready? Maybe not.
"Beep" goes the bell.
The teachers, the tests,
Laughter and loyalties;
Sad days have gone,
Good days are back.
The end has come.
The suits, the ties,
The dresses, the hats;
So much to spend,
Yet no one regrets.
Prom and commencement
Not far away now.
Payments and housing,
Profs and posing;
Roommates that match,
Registration, orientation;
So many things to do.
Only four months to go.
Missing our families.
They let go of our hands,
We venture on alone.
New friends, easy?
Yes, maybe, not really.
The butterflies await.
First half, passed,
Unsure of the second.
Torturous months;
Time mocks us.
Waiting for acceptance,
Nervous, we are.
They say it's harder;
Said that before.
Everyday, they try
Preparing us for later,
And still we are
Ready? Maybe not.
