One More Day
If I could spend one more day with you,
Maybe I wouldn’t feel so blue.
Maybe my sorrows would melt away,
And I could hear what you’re trying to say.
Since you’ve been gone it hasn’t been the same,
I can’t even bare to hear your name.
When I think about all of the memories we’ve shared,
It brings me to tears knowing how much you cared.
If I could spend one more day with you,
There would be so much that we would do.
I would tell you how lucky I am to have you in my life,
You helped me get through my struggles and strife.
No one could ever take your place in my heart,
Even though you’re not here, we won’t ever be apart.
One more day is all I need,
So my heart will not continue to bleed.
I could confess all of my wrongdoings to you,
Knowing that you will still love, and forgive me too.
Your laugh, your hugs, and the little things you say,
Are all things that make me wish that I had one more day.
