He beat her till she bled,
causing a monstrous cut
inside her head.
It was papa she said,
he's so angry,
why was papa always so angry?
He kissed her to apologize
but by morning she wouldn't
open her eyes, but mama didn't die.
I cried when the ambulance came
and took her away;
I was so scared, lonely, and afraid.
All I could think is what would papa do?
My vision blurred as tears burned my cheeks
and I quivered within myself.
I wanted to run and hide,
knowing papa could hurt me if he tried.
But I stayed still, immobilized.
Time ticked forward, and I waited anxiously
then all of a sudden I heard the loud thunder of a gun
and I knew papa was on the run.
It's over. Finished and done.
Papa ended his life just as soon as it had begun.

Thank you. I had written this in less than an hour at school one day. I just saw things in the news and articles on the internet and I just wrote because it kind of interferes with my life too and things I've seen. But, I also love to write and when things come to me I write them down.
