Ignorance, Bliss, Something Amiss
How many hours
'till they notice me smiling,
How many days
'till they notice me sighing,
How many weeks
'till they notice me dying,
Never soon enough
to realize what's already dead,
In my head and theirs.
Mind, body, spirit,
They always have to
see it to believe it,
Because they've lost belief
in miracles, impossibles,
In people they knew
but didn't want to;
In things they held
but forgot to hold onto.
Lost in that daze of yesterdays
along with his and her pain;
Lost in the haze of todays
along with all their insane.
