The Storm
You don't really know how it started
You don't really know why
But inside you darted
When the dark cloud blanketed the sky
And with each day it grew worse and more awful
Everything kind of faded away
You searched for a loaded gun or a knife not quite so dull'
You just prayed you wouldn't see the next day
But they took you away
Far away from your home
In that strange bed you lay
Isolated and alone
One day you went back
And it wasn't the same
Everything was still kind of black
You struggled to not give yourself all of the blame
And it got worse, then better
Because you met us
And I wrote you the letter
Hoping it was me you'd choose to trust
And the storm is still howling
But it's getting close to being done
And while inside you're still yowling
Someday you'll see the sun
Through each storm you grew stronger
And our bonds more connected
But you don't have to fight it much longer
Because now you are protected
The storm's nearly gone
Please Julia, take my hand
Look, I can see the dawn
The sun has returned to our land.
