Colors Around Us
Orange as Halloween and
pumpkins waiting to be craved.
Orange as the school colors
and t shirts that come from there.
Orange as the sunset setting
right above a ocean view.
Blue as the bluejays that come out in spring
and the tulips about to peek out of the ground
Blue as the ocean on a sunny day and the pool
right before the kids jump into it.
Blue as my bed and walls of my room that
I fall asleep to every night.
Green as the newly cut grass in summer
the smell of the grass as I drive by.
Green as the frogs that come out after it rains
that everyone tries to catch but hop away too fast.
Green as the Christmas tree that brings spirit through the house
and brightens up the whole family.
Yellow as the sun on a hot summer day
all the kids playing outside in the heat.
Yellow as the lemons that now have formed to lemonade
by the kids on the street, selling it for 25 cents.
Yellow as the school buses in front of you
that makes you wait while the youngins get off.
All these colors are in all our lives. From waking up in the morning
to falling asleep. These colors can change peoples moods, make
them remember things just by the color. All the colors come together
into a message and emotion.
