Do you know how I see me?
The girl in the mirror.
In my eyes she’s not very pretty.
How do you see her?

She dares not look you in the eyes
For fear you may see her soul.
A soul so worn, it’s beaten from lies.
She feels it’s starting to take a toll.

The girl I the mirror is smiling.
Smiling and laughing all day.
But I, on the other hand, am fighting.
She’s afraid of what others would say.

You would know this girl if you saw her on the street.
You’d say hi, laugh and carry on.
But what would happen if you saw me?
You’d look the other way and move along.

Her smiles run endlessly throughout her time.
My tears call them all lies.
Her smiles paint a beautiful story.
But my tears shall always be wise.

Do you know how I see me?
The girl in the mirror.
The reflection of what I wish to be.
Instead of being flooded with tears.
