Society

Let's look at society
Why do I feel like someone is always lying to me?
To keep it real, let's go over some things
We have a military and send our men and women to war
But forget the government for a second, who and what are we really fighting for

We send more criminals to jail and less children to school
It's like we let our children play in puddles but let the criminals lounge in swimming pools

That's how they end up on the street thinking they're too cool
Too cool for what?
An education, a life, a future, success
Have a seat and throw your life away like the rest
Skipping school, cutting class, oh you think you're tough
Trade in those Air Jordans for a pair of combat boots and a possible one way trip to Afghanistan and you'll find the real definition of rough
We can't find jobs and struggle to put food on the table a lot
But the government gives NASA billions to take pictures of different rocks
And when something goes wrong we point fingers and say it's your fault
Maybe society is just a game or a test
Deciding who will come out on top to be the best
Be fit to survive and keep who you are alive

This poem entails some of the thoughts I have about the place we live in. I'm not a politician but these are just some of the thoughts I have.
