The Dream
I’d like to Dream
 Of a World all Green

In which I’d breathe fresh air
 Instead of our polluted spare

 And a rainforest so serene
 Devoid of a cutting machine

I’d point to the penguins and say
They lived because we changed our way

A vision of aid reaching all
Babies shouldn’t die, when they could be learning to crawl

Swimming through an ocean purely turquoise
I’d give thanks for that we didn’t lose the porpoise

I’d turn to my granddaughter and boast
It was my generation that changed the most

And maybe one day I’ll look outside and see
The World, as it was meant to be
