We're here, and then we're gone. Its not about the time here but what we do with the time.

The pawn stands alone
Pinned by the knight
In between the queen
The black box on white pieces

Pinned by the knight
The king watches cowardly
The black box on white pieces
As the ink flows on a page

The king watches cowardly
The crown being fitted
As ink flows on the page
Creating his throne

The crown being fitted
Shaded and outlined
Creating his throne
The chessmen standing guard

Shaded and outlined
In between the Queen
The chessmen stand guard
And alone the pawn still stands.

The author's comments:
This is a Pantoum on life. Sometimes we seem like we are the pawn, alone and helpless and that no one wants us. But as there is in chess, although there are pawns, they play quite a big part in the game.

Everyone is loved and needed.
