The Leaf

Fall.
Such a happy time for some, but sad for others.
As the green leaf’s chlorophyll leaves him like a cheating wife,
The leaf turns a majestic magenta.

Such a happy time for some, but sad for others.
The leaf does not want to leave his tree, but
The leaf turns a majestic magenta
And yellow veins start to creep in like a worm.

The leaf does not want to leave his tree, but
He has to go, the gorgeous oak knows it must happen.
And yellow veins start to creep in like a worm,
The leaf gets yellower and yellower, he starts to wither.

He has to go, the gorgeous oak knows it must happen,
And the leaf begins to fall, just as we did in the garden.
The leaf gets yellower and yellower, he starts to wither.
Fall.
