Long ago there was a love so true and strong,

That even the angels from heaven above
Were jealous of the sight they saw
Our love we carried was more than a dozen white doves
With wings spread wide we soared through the sky
Nothing could compare to this kind of love.

We were on top of the world,
Brushing the tips of heaven, our love like a warm embrace
I loved her more than love itself;
Her smile keeping me above the ground, our love was a perfect ace.

The beauty inside her was enough to unlock the chambers that guarded my heart
Together we were one, sharing our heart, mind, and soul
But in a gush of despair, a wave of sadness
My love was stolen by those of old

Laying on the ground below,
I tasted the bitter sweetness of my own sorrow
Gazing into the starry night,
I recalled the beauty of my sweet; heart aching, sinking low

Even with her gone I could feel the warmth of her smile
That’s when I realized that our love was stronger than love could be
No demons, no angels, even hell itself could stop it
My desire for her was too strong for thee

For her beauty was more than the glistening moon
She understood the ways that made me, me
Death will not do us part
I heard the heavens sigh with defeat
Our souls will forever be joined as a whole
The girl who stole my heart from me,
My darling, my sweet;
Who lies beside me as we sleep
In everlasting melody.

This piece was inspired by the poem Annabel Lee from Edgar Allen Poe. It was a really beautiful poem with a great message to anyone that has ever been in love.
