The Hallways
As I walked down the streets today,
 I saw the same things,
 In different ways.
the trees, with their gnarly roots
Seemed to whipser as I walked.
 I wonder what they say.
Are they asking a hodgepodge of questions?
I hope they approve of me.
I wonder if they are spreading spicy gossip?
 I wonder.
I hope I can smuggle my real slef,
 Past their reaching branches.
I long for my tetchiness to harden,
 To toughness.
 But for now,
 I pass the trees,
 In slience.
