Most of us can go to our refrigerator
choose when or what we will eat:
Nine o’clock eat
Twelve o’clock eat
Six o’clock eat
Fish, chicken,
Milk, soda,
Blueberry, chocolate.
Rather, take some time to give thanks
for having a roof over your head,
Food in your refrigerator
a family that knows where you are.
And if you are feeling thankful,
Serve in a soup kitchen a few times a month.
Help someone who doesn’t have a choice to what they can get
But no one can make you go.
After all, beggars can’t be choosers.
