something forgotten
deep concentration,
or maybe irritation
crumples the space between her brows.
she leans in closer
narrows her eyes into almost crescent moons
maybe she’s searching for something
maybe something she has never seen
or maybe something she forgot
but maybe not
maybe nothing new, and nothing forgotten
maybe she remembers this girl from the days before.
she remembers it all
of course she remembers
maybe wishes she didn’t
maybe wishes tomorrow will be the day
the day she finds something new
or maybe something she forgot
