Lucy Left Us
Lucy a pretty thing, sweet as can be
Lucy grew happy despite a lack of money
Then middle school came
And brought poor Lucy to shame
She sat alone reading Terry Brooks
When suddenly came a boy with devilish good looks
He called her pretty and used all his charm
She never thought he would do her harm
But soon she was slipping and slipping fast
Good grades, and family days were things of the past
High school came and things got worse
Lucy devolped a case of the party curse
She was always the center there
Because she would do what others wouldn't dare
Lucy was loud with a very strong voice
Yet felt with drugs Lucy didn't have a choice
There was always a beter high somewhere
Lucy was determinded to find it and be there
She finally found a boy and began to cherish him
He gave her the first taste of heroin
Once hooked she never looked back
Silver spoons Lucy would never lack
Even when her boy went far far away
The heroin was there to stay
Lucy birthed three children with needle marked arms
To gone to hear the cry of the baby alarms
Lucy loved all her children every day
But the drugs got in the way
CPS came then her children were gone
Lucy need help even if the journey was long
At rehab everything was pain and unjust
Lucy had to have her medicine she must
But the doctors wouldn't let her
Soon things seemed to get better
With Lucy the good didnt last
She could never run away from her past
Lucy was found outside under the sky
A smile on her lips was her final goodbye
Lucy is gone like so many others
Leaving more children to be missing their mothers
