do you hear what i hear?
The sounds of a school;
 The sounds of chalk,
 Fingers tapping,
 Feet jiggling,
 Teachers teaching.
 These are the sounds typically heard.
 These are not the sounds
 I hear.
 I hear the pain in others voices
 As their peers slowly crush their dreams.
 I hear the boredom behind the words of comfort.
 I hear the drama all around, sucking every student into it like some horrible great black pit.
 So, on the verge of tears,
 I take out my pen,
 And I flee from it all,
 Into a world where I only hear what I want to
 And make up my own monsters,
 Rather than facing the ones,
 That are my peers.
