An Ode to My Clothes
A warm sweater is,
A pick me up on a day that feels like Antarctica outside,
Knit tights hug my body
They make me feel warm inside and out.
When I look in my closet, I see
Tops, skirts, scarves; all outfits waiting to happen.
The choices are bountiful and exciting.
There’s mountains of shoes covering the closet floor,
Right foot, left foot, instant gratification
A cute dress, with confidence in the seams.
A t-shirt with a message lets me express myself,
Or a hoodie to serve as a security blanket
Keeping me warm and safe.
The sweatpants to tell you I’m just not feeling it,
But a uniform of leggings.
Nothing makes me feel like my clothes.
A simple happiness only a girl could understand.
An ode to my closet,
An ode to my clothes.
