Winter now adorns her lovely gown,
And while she dances through the silent air,
Her train is white upon the frozen ground.

When to the south the flocks of birds have flown,
And withered leaves have left the trees all bare,
Winter now adorns her lovely gown.

The voice of Winter's but a gentle sound;
Her face is soft, and delicately fair;
Her train is white upon the frozen ground.

Through the glass the streets begin to drown--
The dancers' quiet breaths swell in the air--
Winter now adorns her lovely gown.

With every step, the waltz builds; round and round
Swirl the flakes who Winter's solace share.
Her train is white upon the frozen ground.

The hush of Winter's music's all around,
Settling with comfort, like a prayer.
Winter now adorns her lovely gown,
Her train is white upon the frozen ground.
