The signature of your name is still engraved on my neck
I bite my lip
You sit across from me with a blank expression on your face
You continue talking but your words don’t reach my ears
You stand up and put your lips to my forehead,
Hard,
My tears feel like fire rolling down my cheeks
I want to grab your shirt and beg you to stay
But your stillness freezes me,
You pull away and look me in my face
Water began filling your eyes but you turn away before it can overflow
I reach for your hand but am not able to grasp it
You turn back to me with a face red and wet
My hands began shaking but did not move
You did,
you left me in our living room broken,
You left me for your country
