The Bridge Of My Heart

That which seems most stable
Will inevitably fall away
Deep beneath the cables
The bridge will soon decay
Deep within my chest
My heart skips a beat
And at the sight of you, repeats
Your words crash over me like waves
into a bridge on a cool summers day
Straining the base and breaking me down
Deeper in love with you
These thoughts collect in my mind
And swell at my lips
Then fall at my teeth
To lay for eternity
I can’t let the thoughts show
For surely you would go
Away with my heart
And away with my pride
And into my defeat
