Night After Night

As the moon covers the sun
The sky becomes undone,
Cool air blankets the earth
I think about life and its worth,
Always wondering why
All I can do is sigh,
I recall earlier in the day
“When?”, “Where?”, “Why?”, “How?” they say,
The feeling of suffocation boils over in my mind
Since my future still remains abundantly undefined,
Life is not a race
I just wish I could go at my own pace,
In the prolonged shade
My worries refuse to fade,
I can still feel every puncture
Almost like they’re waiting for me to rupture,
My mind keeps looping
As I start drooping,
Though the wind starts to rush
I feel my body turn to mush,
My thoughts must eventually cease
While I sink into underwhelming peace.
