The Fishy Mystery
On a cold dreary night in the midst of October
A man would soon learn that his life would turn over
On the eve of the night, he put his children to bed
But in the next morning, his children were dead
Shocked and dismayed, he had no idea what to do
But then, out of luck, he stumbled on a clue
Shattered glass on the floor and water spilled out
The man now knew for sure something fishy was about
As the man looked again, he noticed that he
Had failed to see something that now he could see!
Orange and white and black hairs on the floor
He knew that he’d seen all these colors before!
The culprit, of sorts, lay asleep in the house
And the man could now stir him with the squeak of a mouse
The man crept on forward, and was ready to pounce
And suddenly the culprit jumped up and came out
The man, he now knew, why his pet fish were dead –
His little cat, Felix, had forgotten to be fed.
