Small town girl
Living in one big world
The walls around her just swirl
She hurts
Deep down inside she knows it is wrong
But looking at the pictures they sing a different song
People think we should look like that, eat like that, talk like that
If we don’t then I guess that makes us fat
She hurts
But all these words sound so tempting
Just buy this and you won’t be repenting
From the stall she walks to the mirror
Her vision is blurry so she waits till it’s clearer
She hurts
She wants to change
But for what, for who, why bother
She’d only change so that she would be accepted by her own father
She’d change to be noticed by that guy down the road
She’d change to fit in with the populars not the rogues
She hurts
Thinking of the past not the present
Because all this girl knows is how to resent
She is the one sitting alone in the corner
She is the one with everything organized and in order
Because with all this time she has had time to think
She realized she is on the brink
With her hands on the edge of the sink
She hurts
Still looking in that mirror
Still nothing is getting clearer
Tears run down her cheek
Thinking about that guy who called her a freak
She hurts
She hurts a lot, but
It is all this pain
That has helped her gain
The confidence she needs to stop her rain
One cry for help
And she no longer has to worry
Because she can burry
All this pain
Racked up in her brain
She did hurt.
