Country Dream
The crickets chirp their summer song
Frogs croak near the stream
A summer night has just begun
This is a country dream
An old blue pickup sits in a field
Full of wheat and hay
The night sky is filled with stars
The moon shines bright as day
On the hood of that old truck
Two young lovers sit in wait
Hand in hand they gaze at the sky
A backdrop as black as slate
They lay there quietly until sunrise
A private show for two
And as the sun breaks the horizon
He whispers, “I love you.”
