Hades Underworld
Where I lay
I can see no trace of golden sun
But the smell of rotting flesh and decay
In my dark abyss reminds me of the forgotten
Who wander walking warily every which way
Lead like a desperate dog by Hermes the slain
Are taken far from the world away
Across one of my many rivers the Acheron
Left with no choice but to travel by
Trusting Charon
Across the dribbling waters by ferry
But one mustn’t be mistaken
For he only brings those who pay
The fare with coin
Placed upon their mouths on their death day
Soles without money are trapped between
The world of the living and myself for eternity
But those with riches are taken
To the gates where Cerberus incessantly
Guards to keep in the desperate men and women
Who will never be permitted to escape though they try
To leave I the infamous Hades domain
Their mangled hands dry and deprived held open
Hungry gator jaws desperate to change their destiny
