It’s all about acceptance.
Accepting different human beings with different races, cultures, and ways of being.
We are all our own person and there are only one of each of us.
Then again there are those beliefs and ways in society that make me question a little.
I refuse to accept the idea that 11 year olds getting walked in on by their parents’ twerking in the mirror instead of practicing how to say “bye bye bye” like Justin Timberlake is ok.
I refuse to accept the view of Victoria Secret backpacks everywhere, everywhere at the start of everyday at a middle school.
How do they even know about that store yet? They don’t even wear bras yet they shouldn’t be wearing clothes and products from that store, little engine that could should slow down.
The memories of Barbie and little pink backpacks run through my mind, sadly only in the past can that be see now.
I refuse to accept the fact that there are children being harassed daily, hourly, by the minute, on the way they appear on the surface.
Not having “the look”, the excellence ability to excel in physical activity, for being the smart one, for being different.
I refuse to accept that two human beings are being denied the right to love one another, to have be able to express their love as others do.
I refuse accept that I will stay in Oswego just to remember the times of the past in my high school years, around the same people.
I shall move on and live better years, making them even more glorious each time.
I refuse to accept that my family member or loved ones will get sick, yet I’ve been there too many times, it will happen.
Enjoy them while they’re here.
I refuse to accept that things won’t get better.
Happiness doesn’t come easy, but it will come.

But besides that, I’m a pretty accepting person I would say!

I was told to write an anaphora poem. Insperation for some of the lines from this piece came from experiences I had the day before.
