Skyline
I wish I could look outside,
and see buildings towering above me.
I wish I could live though seasons-
hot summers.
chilly autumns,
frigid winters,
fresh springs.
I wish to live up north
in a city
where everything is in motion-
I can’t handle stagnation any longer.

A Friend

She’s witty like a British man,
as calm as the Mediterranean Sea
with the sass that burns like the Sahara sun,
but a smile that sparks a charm
like the streets of Paris.
To be without her would be
like Italy without its grapevines,
like New York without Time Square-
lifeless,
unexciting,
dull…
Thank the city lights of Tokyo that she’s my best friend.

Gloom

Gloom
It encompasses the day
Rain
Pitter-patters like a death drum on my window sill
Cold
As the last breath of summer dying away
Dark
Like the uninhabited portion of the brain
Vacant
Like a pandora’s box emptied of all its treasures.
