The Friend
Everyone has that one friend,
That friend that thinks he's invincible.
The one that is willing to do whatever he is told,
Drink a beer, smoke a blunt, try some new things.
That friend.
The one you try to straighten up but he just won't listen,
No matter how hard you try.
The one that believes nothing bad will happen to him,
In reality he's the one it will happen to.
The one that doesn't realize the pain he is causing everyone around him,
That friend.
I wish I could say things ended well for him,
If I did I would be lying.
He decided to try the wrong thing that night,
I found him laying in the bathtub. Dead.
That friend.
The one that could've achieved so much more,
That could've gone somewhere in life.
The one that had so much potential but fell into the wrong crowd,
The crowd that eventually killed him.
My friend.
Not a day goes by when I don't think about him,
What he could've been,
Should've been.
If I could go back I would have done more to be involved,
Maybe tried a little harder.
Then maybe he'd still be with us.
RIP To That Friend
