Far from home,
Looking for friends,
Looking for brothers,
But the mocking birds came,
With taunt and shout,
Than one day
an old cardinal did come,
All alone my young bird,
The old cardinal did say,
Why have you come,
I am lost and they taunt,
Why must they squawk,
Well my young blue bird,
It’s the mockingbirds way,

What may I do so they will say,
The young bird did say,
Iyou may sway their ways,
But may I suggest,
You don’t stay,
Fly away,
Yet if you stay,
My young friend,
I shall give you house and food,
And the blue bird did say,
I shall stay,
And sway their ways,
Then with that the blue bird took flight,
And spoke his mind,
Then sang his most beautiful of songs,
The mocking birds did sway,
And the blue bird did say,
There he made his family,
And friendship with the Cardinal and his kin,
