The memory of meeting someone
would never be remarkable a best
friend, would be like a sister.
The air would become sultry.
Sweating, without a place to cool down.
The fact she had a pool, changed everything.
I requested to swim in her icy blue pool,
I quickly simmered down.
The odor of chlorine saturated
my winter white skin.
The smell was atrocious.
My stomach revolved in disgust
that would be a day I will
take to my breathless grave.
