Don't Slice It!

As I walk up to the tee I tee my ball, and as i get to the top of my back swing my partner yelled "don't slice it"! I didn't.
As we went to holes two through nine he would yell the same thing, "don't slice it"!
I know he was willing to do anything to win, even if it meant yelling that phrase while I was swinging.
I thought to myself, I haven't sliced it yet and on the last hole I did and it was painful to see, but I made Par and won. So much for "don't slice it"!

I love the ending! It's nice to read poems about topics you don't normally see (like golf).
Play your best game and enjoy it. You can walk away from every game knowing you did your best.
