That Night
It’s late and dark.
As the bus pulls up to the
School parking lot,
I recap over my day.
As the bright brake lights shine
On the cars,
I think of
The rollercoaster rides,
The foods and concessions,
The toys and arcade games,
All with
This awesome girl,
A girl
I like
A girl
I have feelings for.
I un-board the bus,
Looking for her.
I see her . . .
The last person off.
I run up to her and
Give her a hug. We are both very tired,
But I can
Feel the connection between us.
She
Hands me a basketball she found.
I take it
and walk back
To my car
My mother asks, “How was your day?”
I reply, “Good.”
