Water Water Everywhere

My grandfather used to say
the poem he loved everyday
I never understood until he cared to show
now I share as I grow
"water, water, everywhere and not a drop to drink"
I guess I understand now what life has to poke fun
I guess I can understand why life is full of pun
the Lord works in mysterious ways
I guess you follow him or surely the devil pays
