Your Skin
All they ever look at-
Is how you are outside
They do not see the real you-
What's buried deep inside.
You never fight their sneers;
Ignore all their glances
But what you'd give for them to see-
They're running out of chances.
All they do is judge you;
Point out all your scars
You let them rise above you
And help them take more cards
They refuse to see the real you-
What's hidden deep within
Why don't you just show them-
What is living in their sin?
That cover doesn't suit you-
But you wear it anyways
Even if they spite you,
There is never a delay.
Why don't you show them your true self,
The good they would never pin?
You refuse to even glimmer-
And you stay beneath your skin

Why do we let them judge and label us by what they see on the outside?
Is it because we are afraid of who we are?
Or are we too comfortable inside our skin to care?
