Hearts Desire
Eyes so wet they soon feel dry,
A sadness too deep to question why,
A lovers lips that only lie,
My heart which screams 'I want to die.
Eyes they say are the key to the soul,
Heart, I say, plays a bigger role,
For when one's eyes are as black as coal,
Does their soul contain such dark a hole?
The heart contains the deepest fire,
The drive, the push to lift us higher,
The heart can always spot a liar,
And it breaks when we find it's our hearts desire.
