The Beauty in All of Us
I took a glance at the mirror once more
and saw something that I had never seen before
For years and years I thought I was ugly as can be
But now I can see the beauty within me
I remember when I would watch the models on TV
Who looked way too perfect to ever be me
I recall all those names that people would say
As I would walk to my classes every day
Every girl is different with what about her she hates
She thinks she’s too fat, too skinny, too tall too short, or has no beauty traits
We try so hard to fix the things that make us who we are
But sooner or later we all find out that we are shining stars
We are not meant to look like little Barbie dolls
or those mannequins you see at shopping malls
God created us in his own image of perfection
And I hope that helps you go the right direction
So the next time you look into the mirror
And you are feeling ugly and inferior
Remember this poem and you might see
the same kind of beauty that I noticed in me
