A Place of Sad and Lonely Sods
A building and a steeple,
Full of interesting people,
With an air and a spirit,
that is quiet and is faint, but, alas, I still hear it.
It is subtle and is blunt,
That stirs up a fire in my gut.
It's the feeling of several eyes,
All staring without reprieve.
Watching for a fumble,
Just waiting for me to stumble.
An air that carries judgement,
And a hidden feeling of resentment.
Is this proper in a place of God?
If this is so, than the church is indeed, a sad and detestable sod.

But I wrote this because I couldn't help but feel like the members of his congregation are watching me or staring me down sometimes, just waiting for me to make a mistake, it's a very unpleasant feeling, and I wrote this piece to help express jus' how I felt when it happened.
